Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP under the label Dreamville Records. This was when she gained her first notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued posting her music on the internet, as well as her own single Bound. On July 21 2015 she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to work in conjunction with Rihanna. The news was released on December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut album on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018 she went on to guest feature on two of her songs along with label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was released on September 5th. Then on November 9 she dropped two more singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was accompanied by an accompanying music video that debuted in February 20th, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube within one week. In December of 2018 she performed on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
